Carl Craig

Presumably you've all heard of Carl Craig?

He was part of the second wave of Detroit producers.  Taking the mantle from Derrick May, Juan Atkins, and Kevin Saunderson and running with it, Carl Craig has produced some of the best dance music of the last couple of decades.
From his incredible work as Paperclip People, twisting a Motown bassline to awesome effect in the incredible 15 minute techno workout "Throw", to his legendary remix of Faze Action - In the Trees; he always adds something to the dancefloor, some indefinable groove.

Having worshipped the man from afar for a number of years, watching him DJ in various clubs around the world, now there is the chance to see him do something a bit different.

On Friday 12 February the Red Bull Academy is hosting a night of experimental electronica that looks to be one of the most interesting events of the next few months.  Held across 2 venues inside the Royal Festival Hall, this promises to be a mixture of chin-stroking oddness for all you beret-wearing jazz fans out there ;-) and straight up dancefloor techno to help you get down.
